Suzuki announces new Vintage Insurance scheme

Suzuki has announced details of a new Vintage Insurance scheme, which offers owners of classic models bespoke policies with a great range of added benefits.

Available on machines over20years old, Suzuki’s Vintage Insurance continues the Japanese manufacturer’s drive and commitment to servicing the needs of owners of older models, with Suzuki’s Vintage Parts Programme already providing parts support for a growing range of machines since its launch at the end of 2013.

Vintage Insurance policies from Suzuki combine affordable premiums with other benefits, including cover at club rallies and when on static display, no excess, unlimited mileage, a free agreed value upfront, spare and dismantled parts cover, salvage retention rights, third party extension on other machines, up to £100,000 worth of legal expenses cover, and up to 10% off owners’ club membership fees.

Suzuki GB Aftersales Marketing Co-ordinator, Tim Davies, said,“We’re really committed to making life as easy as possible for owners of older and classic Suzuki machines; it’s why we launched our Vintage Parts Programme and why we’re delighted to now be able to offer Vintage Insurance policies, too. New bike sales are obviously a big focus for any manufacturer, but we also know how many people own or are looking for that classic purchase, and how popular the ownership of older machines still is. But we also know it comes with its challenges, like parts supply, and also finding an insurance policy that gives you what you need, and hopefully that is where our new scheme will come in.”

Eight models now feature on Suzuki’s Vintage Parts Programme, including the RGV250, the original GSX-R750F, and the GT250 X7, with downloadable manuals and parts lists, as well as original brochures and posters.
