Suzuki will display its award-winning motocross range at Motorcycle Live, with the new RM-Z450 taking centre-stage.

Launched earlier this year at the Valkenswaard Grand Prix circuit, the new RM-Z450 was recently chosen as the 450 motocrosser of choice by one of the world’s leading off-road titles, Moto Magazine.

New Showa SFF Air front forks reduce weight and increase suspension performance, as well as making finding the optimum set up both easier and quicker, while a new Suzuki Holeshot-Assist Control system ensure riders get the best possible start.

Developed on the factory race bikes of the likes of James Stewart and Clement Desalle, the holeshot-assist system features two modes, providing optimum traction on different surfaces. For hard surfaces at the gate, the system’s A-mode alters ignition timing to reduce wheel spin and deliver a smoother launch. In grippy conditions, B-mode advances ignition timing and increases throttle response, providing stronger acceleration off the line.

The new 450 also benefits from a new lighter, stiffer chassis and engine updates including a redesigned decompression system, redesigned and relocated kick idle gear, a new breather gear, and also a new and longer kick-start.

Also on display will be the RM-Z250, widely-praised for being a well-balanced, all-round 250 motocross machine, plus the race bikes that will be campaigned by Heads & All Threads Suzuki riders Graeme Irwin and new MX2 recruit Harri Kullas in 2015.

Irwin rode the new RM-Z450 for the first time at the final round of the 2014 British Motocross season, immediately winning the first moto he raced on the new bike, while Harri Kullas joins from the MXGP paddock. The Finn has previous experience with the RM-Z250, racing with the factory Rockstar Energy Suzuki team in 2012.
