New Burgman 125 debuts at Motorcycle Live

Suzuki will be showcasing the new Burgman 125 at this year’s Motorcycle Live, after the stylish new small capacity scooter was displayed at EICMA in Milan earlier this month, with a headline 97MPG* figure.

The new Burgman 125 follows the launch of the 650 Executive version earlier this year, with updated bodywork bringing the styling of the new 125 more inline with the larger capacity machine. The Burgman 125 features a 735mm seat, the lowest seat height in its class, and features the same practical cutaways in the floorboards, making it easier for riders to put their feet down when stopping. A new, taller windscreen born out of dedicated wind tunnel testing adds improved weather protection for the rider, with a vent duct at the bottom of the screen reducing turbulence.

A lightweight and compact engine helps keep overall weight down and improves fuel efficiency, the Burgman 125 achieving a figure of 97MPG*. This is aided by a revised fuel injection system, which works with an oxygen feedback system and intake pressure sensor for optimum combustion efficiency. The Burgman’s stopping power is also improved through a newly designed 240mm front disc with a twin-piston caliper, and a 240mm rear disc.

Practicality comes as standard with the Burgman 125, with spacious, 41 litre under-seat storage big enough for two full-face helmets. If you’re removing items in the dark, the Burgman has a handy internal light for added convenience. Two front storage compartments provide a further 5.5 litre storage space, with one lockable with the ignition key, while the other utilises a ‘push-open’ style for easy access. Like the bigger Burgman 650 Executive model, the 125 features a 12V DC power outlet to charge electronic devices.

A revised instrument panel brings the Burgman 125 into 2014 with a more modern style, and now features a tachometer and a newly designed speedometer. A large centre display shows average fuel consumption, fuel gauge, clock, twin-trip meter and an oil change indicator. Like the new 650 model, the Burgman 125 also benefits from an Eco drive indicator to help encourage fuel-efficient riding.

The new Burgman 125 will be available in the UK in Metallic Matt Fibroin Grey and Brilliant White.
