Webb ready to hit the road

Danny Webb will finally hit the road on two wheels after completing his direct access motorcycle course.

Widely known for claiming the final 125cc pole position in Grand Prix racing at Valencia, Webb is, of course, no stranger to riding a bike on the public roads. He won the 2018 International Road Racing Championship, and has raced at the Isle of Man TT and the Classic TT, where he has made a number of appearances for Team Classic Suzuki on a mix of XR69, RG500, and GSX-R machinery.

Now, however, he will enjoy riding on the road at a more leisurely pace on a Suzuki 8S, instead of chasing lap times.

Danny Webb said, “It’s nice to put a jacket and jeans on instead of leathers and just go for a ride. Pretty much all of my motorcycling is about going as fast as possible, so it makes a nice change to be able to chill out a bit and just enjoy riding around. The 8S has been good, too. The engine’s obviously proving its performance in the British Sportbike Championship, but in a more upright bike it’s a great little road engine with a load of torque.”

Webb will be back on Suzuki machinery later this month when he goes testing in Florida, ahead of next year’s Daytona 200 where he will be campaigning a GSX-R750 for Team Classic Suzuki.

The 8S is currently available with 3.9% APR representative finance, and can be had for £79 per month on a four-year PCP deal with a £1736.57 deposit.
